How do i know if a guy likes me?

Ok so there is this guy at my school he is in my grade and i like him but i dont know if he likes me. How do i tell? Every time he walks by me at recess he will say hey and slap me on the head. Also one time i turned around and he was staring at me. I like him but does he like me?
