1995 ford probe starting problem?

I have a 1995 ford probe with the 2.0 4 cylinder and 5 speed trans. The car will start once its set for a while no problem, but once u drive it and it heats up, u park it shut it off and try to start it again, it wont start, and i get the strong smell of gas like its flooding itself. I took it to a shop the replaced the fuel pressure regulator and it didn't fix it, they said there was nothing wrong with injectors and when your driving the car it runs smooth and has plenty of power. So idk wat it is. any help would b great. Thank you
